Train to Morzine
A train journey is likely to take longer and be more expensive than a plane ticket, but it will give you plenty of time to admire the scenery as you travel through France. Morzine does not have a train station, however, the two train stations closest to Morzine are Cluses (29km away) and Thonon-Les-Bains (32km away). Trains stop at both stations on the way to and from Paris.
If travelling from the UK, the whole trip will take around 12 hours, starting with the Eurostar to Gare du Nord Station in Paris, then a metro ride to catch your connecting train heading from Gare du Lyon station to Geneva Cornavin, to reach Cluses or Thonon-Les-Bains. You’ll then need to get to Morzine from the train station, catching a local bus is the cheapest option.

Driving to Morzine
Some people choose to drive to Morzine, stopping in France along the way if travelling from the UK. Make sure you budget for toll roads as your drive through Paris, these will usually add up to around £70-80 each way.

After leaving the motorway you’ll need to negotiate 45km of winding mountain roads to reach the resort, which can take around an hour.
There’s also the option to fly to Geneva and hire a car for the onward journey, this will depend on your confidence with winter driving in the mountains. It is usually cheaper to book an airport transfer and let someone else take care of the driving.

In the winter, coach services travel overnight from London Victoria Coach Station to nearby Cluses, the journey is via Folkestone and takes around 18 hours in total. Once you arrive in Cluses you will need to catch another bus to Morzine.
