SKIING IN VERBIER

Verbier is the principal part of the four valleys, which provide access to a vast area of skiing, namely, 410 km of pistes, equipped with 93 ski lifts and the highest altitude being 3,330.0 m. These conditions allow visitors of all levels to ski all season.

 

Verbier is also more famous for the off-piste & freeride terrain options based in the resort. Many skiers and boarders will be venturing off pistes for the fresh lines in that amazing powder. We always recommend that if you’re not experienced off piste skier then make sure you go with a guide or instructor.

La Chable is the closest town to Verbier. 

 

It sits at the bottom of the base of Verbier and is roughly 10 minutes further up to where the hair pin bends to Verbier. 

 

The Train arrives at La Chable from Geneva here and Verbier is just a cable car ride away.

Veriber is the go to resort for adventurous skiers who want to explore some great off piste on the mountain or prefer to stay on the pistes and enjoy the lively apres scene here with a glass of Champagne or Apero.

The highest point of Verbier is Mont Fort and when there is clear weather at the top, you can see the Matterhorn Mountain and even as far as Mont Blanc.

During the ski season Verbier has local buses which operate for free so you can enjoy moving easily throughout the resort. 

You won’t need a car in Verbier, as there are a few options from shared or private transfers to get you from the Airport to the resort. 

 

You can, if you choose to, hire a car but when you arrive at the resort, parking can be limited in the area and there are reliable buses through the area during the ski season.

A taxi from Le Chable to Verbier is around 30 CHF.

Yes there’s a local bus from Le Chable to Verbuier, during the ski season the buses operate between 7am-9pm. Bus tickets are roughly 10 CHF.

The Le Chable lift is 6.40 CHF per way. You can purchase this at the station before boarding.

During the winter season the cable car from Le Chable to Verbier is open from 5.15am to 11.50pm.

Verbier is within the 4 Vallees ski area, which is made up of six resorts; Bruson, La Tzoumaz, Nendaz, Veysonnaz and Thyon.
