This is the absolute best value ski transfer option we have. With this option, you will be dropped off/ collected from one of our fixed points.

This is the same service as the fixed point line but with an additional last-mile minivan direct to your door with a changeover at Moutiers Gare Routiere. This upgrade will enable you to travel directly to your accommodation. This allows access to the chalets and hotels that are often on narrower roads and harder to reach.

In the resort and at the change over points, we have an Alpine Fleet representative who will meet and greet passengers on arrival and departure coaches. Our reps are a great point of contact who will help with getting your bags on board to answer any questions you may have.

The accommodations in Meribel often reflect the alpine village charm, with traditional chalets and lodges contributing to a cosy and authentic mountain experience. There are, however, alternative options such as hotels and apartments.

Ski equipment rental is readily available in Meribel, with numerous shops offering a variety of gear for skiers and snowboarders, including options suitable for different skill levels. We recommend hiring from our partner Skiset, you’ll get 50% off ski equipment rental.

Meribel Centre and Meribel Village are two distinct areas within the larger Meribel resort. Meribel Centre is the central hub of the resort and is known for it’s lively atmosphere, while Meribel Village is a more relaxed, tranquil and residential area located slightly outside the centre perfect for families.

Courchevel is traditionally known as a ski resort for the elite and is one of the expensive resorts in France, so with this in mind Meribel is usually more affordable than Courchevel.

Meribel Mottaret has a great beginners area for those wishing to learn to ski and gain confidence before hitting the larger slopes.  They even have some lifts here that are beginner friendly and free.

Just like its sister ski resort Courchevel, Meribel is a hot spot for celebrities too. In the past we have seen The Beckhams, the Middletons, the Schumacher family, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and many more. You might even be lucky as Emma Watson (from the Harry Potter franchise) has actually brought a gorgeous chalet here. Will you spot her on the slopes this season?

Getting to the famous Folie Douce when skiing is only possible via Courchevel, however if you are planning to ski you can access it via Saulire Express lift in Meribel for pedestrians. If this is the option you’d prefer to take you will need a 3 Valleys pedestrian lift pass. If you’re not sure, check with the ski lift office and they can make it all possible for you.

Meribel has a range of villages which make up this ski resort, Les Allues, Méribel Centre, Meribel-Mottaret and Meribel Village with each possessing their own unique style.

  • Les Allues is a more budget friendly style location at the entrance of Meribel resort.
  • Meribel Village has a more family friendly atmosphere with restaurants and a few bars.
  • Meribel Centre would be the main area with a great nightlife with a mix of apartments and chalets.
  • Meribel Mottaret is the highest part of the resort, favoured by those more ski and snowboard orientated to make sure they have access to the best lift area in addition to a more relaxed nightlife.

Meribel Centre has plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from and including a lively apres and nightlife scene. Meribel Mottaret on the other hand is a much quieter area in terms of bars and clubs, however there are plenty of great restaurants to visit.

The best area in Meribel for ski in and ski out options is Meribel Mottaret without a doubt –  sitting at 1750m it’s a very purpose built area in which those stunning ski in and ski out chalets are located. This area of the resort can also be the sunniest on a whole.

Meribel is a great place for apres. You won’t be short for live music or celebrations after a great day skiing. A few hot favourites are Rond Point des Pistes “Ronnie”, Lodge du Village (LDV)  – Meribel Village, and Jack’s Bar. Our personal favourites are The Tav (La Taverna) and La Copina and we’d definitely recommend them if you’re looking for a great time when staying in Meribel Town.

The Combe du Vallon is the longest ski run in Meribel,  it starts from 3000m at Mont Vallon and descends into Méribel Mottaret.

Bride-les-bain falls more under the Courchevel ski area; you can however still ski here from January to April, depending on conditions.

Yes you can ski from Meribel to Les menuires starting from La Chaudanne lifts.

It’s easy to traverse Meribel with local buses operating throughout the winter season. They operate on a regular basis, typically between the hours 7am and 11pm.

Meribel is rather pretty with no major sky rising apartment blocks that limit your views and emits more traditional Alpine Ski resort aesthetics.

Meribel was founded by a Scottish man called Peter Lindsay in the late 1930s. With the political situation happening in Germany and Austria he wanted to have a place where British skiers could still come to ski. His vision really has created Meribel and we have a lot to thank him for envisioning this beautiful resort.

La Chaudanne is the main lift in Meribel. It’s located in Meribel Centre and provides access to Mottaret, Alitport & Courchevel. A great place to start your day of skiing adventures in Meribel.

Meribel is jammed packed with snow and always has great conditions. As it’s connected to the other resorts of Les Menuires, Courchevel & Val Thorens you’ll always have the opportunity to ski and multiple areas to explore.

From the highest peak in Meribel Mont Vallon, from here you can view the Gébroulaz glacier sitting at 2600 m to 3500m. If you are interested in taking on this descent you can get an off piste mountain guide to help you enjoy this stunning adventure.
