SHARED TRANSFER TO LES ARCS

We have high frequency shuttle services that offer great value for money. We have two types of shared transfer services:

This is the absolute best value option we have. With this option you will be dropped off / collected from one of our fixed points.

Our fixed point shared transfer service also stops at Bourg St Maurice for those connecting to other ski resorts. The service then continues onwards to Arc 1800, Arc 1600 and Arc 1950, finishing at Arcs 2000. We cover the popular hotels, bus stops, tourist offices, and hot spot areas of the resorts. We like to provide multiple fixed drop-offs and collection points to ensure it’s affordable and efficient for your ski holiday. Please check our map below for all the stops on our line.

This is the same service as the fixed point line but with an additional last-mile minivan direct to your door.

 

From winter 2023/24 we will be offering our customers travelling from Geneva to Les Arcs a new door to door shared transfer option. This upgrade will enable you to travel directly to your accommodation. Please note that with this service you will often change to a smaller vehicle upon arriving in your resort. This allows access to the chalets and hotels that are often on narrower roads and harder to reach.

It is also worth mentioning that their desserts are an absolute must-try, even if you do not tend to often have a sweet tooth. For those wanting to induce in local savoyard flavours you can also visit this hidden gem in Les Arcs 1800, Restaurant Le Dream Spot. Its very cosy setting so bookings are a must for here. 

 

For Apres Ski you can visit the famous brand of La Folie Douce. This is your classic apres ski party with resident djs taking over the floor coupled with free flowing drinks and fun. Don’t worry if you don’t ski as you can still enjoy access by foot from Villards and get up on the mountain for all the fun. This apres bar on the mountain has one latest opening hours to soak up all the positive vibes and even on some nights then extend the opening of the lift to 20:00 to make sure you can get home without a worry.

 

For a fun night out you may try El Latino Loco in Arc 2000, or the Apokalypse in Arc 1800, two of the best-known clubs in the area and party into the late evening.

ALTERNATIVES TO TRANSFERS

The other option holiday makers have when travelling from Geneva to Les Arcs by Train. You can arrive at Bourg Saint Maurice Gare Routiere and then you will need to organise a local taxi or take the funicular up to the Village of Les Arcs.

 

Car hire is another option too, however if you travel via car hire you will need to locate your destination and ensure that you know how to fit the safety requirements such as chains. When you arrive at the resort by car you will need to locate parking as not all properties have parking available  and parking can be very limited during the peak seasons, so make sure you do your research on where you will park.

 

After a long flight, you may prefer the ease and convenience of a transfer that takes all of the organisation out of your hands.

In total, these regions provide access to 260 pistes, and 425 km of skiing area. Every part is intertangled and easily accessible thanks to the 141 lifts available. There are 135 blue, 77 red, 37 black, and 12 green runs you could visit.  Due to the high altitude in which the Les Arcs villages are located –  Arc 1950 & 2000 are snow sure and make for popular holidays at the start & end of season too.

Yes, Les Arcs is a perfect snow sure resort from December to April, conditions here are usually a great mix of powder winter days to slushy spring and sunshine days.

Les Arcs hosts many events throughout the year. In winter the resort comes to life with; The Les Arcs Film Festival (14th-21st December), Les Arcs FreeRide Competition (18th-24th January), The Belle Adventure Les Arcs (8th January), Electronic Peak Festival (22nd-29th March) and many more events throughout the resort.

If nightlife is important to you then Les Arcs is the real winner for late night parties. La Plagne, however La Plagne rivals the party scene with its great apres bars located on the mountain.

Les Arcs is a purpose built Ski resort with great snow sure conditions and most importantly over 70% of pistes are based about 2000 metres which creates the perfect ski conditions to explore the beautiful mountains.

The prices for a pint in Les Arcs is between €6-€8, however keep an eye out for happy hour specials as you can grab a pint for as low as €3.5

They are close, but not that close. Les Arcs is located in the Paradiski area whilst Val Thorens is located in Three Valleys. You can travel between the resorts but it’s around a 1 hour 25 minute journey.

Les Arcs is a great resort for not having to worry about driving. With free ski shuttles connecting the towns, a funicular from Bourg Saint Maurice to Les Arcs and the close proximity of the villages to the pistes, you’ll be able to leave the car at home without worry.

Yes the water in Les Arcs is drinkable, however it will be more chlorinated than you are used to. 

 

Fear not though, if you don’t enjoy the local tap water, you can purchase mineral water from the local market for as little as €1 a bottle.

Les Arcs does not have a train station, the closest station is Bourg Saint Maurice. If you’re planning on travelling by train – you’ll need to head to Bourg Saint Maurice and then make your way onward to Les Arcs by public transport or taxi.

There are over 200 km of pistes within the Les Arcs Ski area.

To get to Les Arcs from Aime you’ll want to take the train from Bourg Saint Maurice and then use Funicular to reach Les Arcs. Alternatively you can look at local taxis to drive you directly to the resort from Aime.

There are 128 pistes in the Les Arcs ski area to explore.

Travelling from Lyon Airport to Les Arcs is an estimated 3 hour journey, however on the weekends journey time can take longer due to traffic. 

There are free ski shuttle buses connecting the villages of Les Arc 1600, 1800, 1950 and 2000. They run every day from 07:00 to 21:30 during the day. On the weekends, during peak season, they will also add night buses so it is worth checking out the timetable when you reach the resort.

Travelling from Chambery to Les Arcs is roughly 2 hours and 30 minutes, however on the weekends journey time can take longer due to traffic. 

You can drive to Les Arcs, however this resort is fully pedestrianised as its a ski in and ski out area. There is an underground car park in which visitors can drive and park here. If you are getting a transfer, please make sure you are aware of your meeting point.

Yes you can walk from Les Arc 1950 to 2000, however we recommend taking the Cabriolet lift for quick and easy access between the 2 villages.

A funicular is a cable train that operates on a mountainside, in Les Arcs it connects Bourg Saint Maurice to Les Arcs 1600 – making it a 7 minute journey.

Usually your ski pass will include the funicular.

The funicular departs Bourg Saint Maurice every 20 minutes between 07:00 to 21:30 local time.

You can either drive or use the Funicular to get from Bourg Saint Maurice to Les Arcs 1600. If you are staying in the higher resorts, you can then use connecting ski shuttles. 

 

Alternatively Alpine Fleet has shared transfers available throughout all of Les Arcs villages, 1600, 1800, 1950 and 2000.
